Yes, I'd heard that speculation about Lincoln's proclivities in his youth. We'll probably never know for absolute sure but of course same-sex activity went on in all historical ages.
And in at least one culture (Greek) homosexuality was considered the norm. For the men, anyways. I don't know about the women.
